Welcome to Farrell Focus!
I’m Stephanie Farrell, and I’m so glad you stopped by my little corner of the internet. This blog is all about… well, a little bit of everything!
I began blogging back in 2009 with luluscottage.blogspot.com . It was such a fun, creative outlet and a great way to connect with other bloggers. Over time, as life changed, so did my blog. I wanted more freedom to create and grow, so I left Blogger and launched Farrell Focus. Now, I share whatever I’m “focused” on at the moment—whether it’s decorating, sewing, traveling, or just living joyfully.
A Bit About Me
I’m married to my high school sweetheart, and together we have three grown kids, four grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. Our love story might sound typical—but trust me, it’s anything but! I’ll have to share that tale one day.
We’ve been empty nesters for a long time and love traveling in our glamped-up camper with our little dog, Buster. My husband Steve and I are full-time photographers with a studio in Jackson, California. We live in a cozy mountain cottage and truly love the country life. We work together, travel together… basically, we’re a team in every way.
You can view Steve’s stunning photography at farrellphotography.net, and browse my online photo galleries here.
More About Me
First and foremost, I’m a family person. I’ve raised three wonderful kids and now enjoy watching the next generation grow. I have two beautiful grown granddaughters—one has a family of her own (2 great grands for us and one on the way!)—and two younger grandkids (a boy and a girl).
Our house is quiet these days… except for Buster and our two mischievous cats who keep things lively!
Though I grew up in suburbia, I now live in the mountains—and let me tell you (shhh… it’s a secret): country is better. It feels like living in a park. I can’t even see a neighbor from my house, which makes it feel so peaceful and private. The seasons, the wildlife, the trees… it’s just magic.
In 2024, I turned 65. Wow! Some days I feel it, and other days I still feel like a kid. Isn’t that the way? This stage of life comes with its own set of challenges, but it also brings freedom. First, you’re someone’s child. Then, you’re someone’s mom. Now? I’m just me—and free to follow my heart.
My empty nest is full of things I love: decorating my home, working in the garden, sewing, filming YouTube videos, hanging out with family and friends, and—of course—traveling! Have you seen my glamped-up camper yet?
